Today's Agenda...IMPORTANT STUFF!

WHEW!  It's been a crazy couple of weeks, my friends!

BodyBack, swim lessons, end of the year school stuff, Mr. Rose's new college session, two jobs (okay, maybe 3 jobs...wait...does being a wife and mother count as a job?  Okay, make that 4 jobs...hold up -- let's not forget that I'm also my daughter's  pancreas/gluten dominator...okay 5 jobs.  More on all that later), laundry, and WHAT THE HECK IS FOR DINNER????

Insert crazy.  frazzled.  mother.  running in circles here.....

But I have news.

SCHOOL.  IS.  OUT!

(By the way, it's fine to rise from your seat, cheering for another successful year of sending T1 and Celiac to school.  Go ahead.  Get the confetti, and I'll crack open a bottle of champagne.)

The very first post I wrote over here at my shiny new URL (after I relocated) was on Sugar's FIRST DAY of the FIRST GRADE.

And now I'm writing this post on her LAST day of first grade.

How did that happen?

ANYWAY, pull up a chair, because I'm calling a family meeting to discuss some important stuff:

Important Stuff #1 -- MAY 2011 BLOGGER BASAL -- The Blogger Basal is a monthly round up of posts from around the DOC.  This month, the fabulous Laura from Houston We Have A Problem will be our hostess.  Any DOC blogger is welcome to participate by simply sending her the link to a post you've written.  With DBlogWeek freshly behind us, there shouldn't be a shortage of awesome posts that are worth sharing again!  (Cough, cough....not to mention the D Mama Anthem that Denise serenaded us with earlier this week.  HINT HINT, DENISE....just sayin'!)

Get your links to Laura {houstonwehaveaproblemblog@gmail.com} no later than Monday, 5/23...and be sure to spread the word!

Important Stuff #2 -- BLOGGER BASAL SIGN UPS -- It's time to start a new calendar!  I'll be looking for 12 bloggers to host the Blogger Basal, beginning in August 2011 through July 2012.  Please leave a comment on this blog post with the month of your choice, and the email address where you would like submissions to be sent.  First come, first serve, so if there's a month that is particularly special to you, then get your comment in STAT!

Important Stuff #3 -- SUGAR BOLUS -- Keep an eye on Hallie over at The Princess and The Pump, because she'll be announcing a winner today!  Then you'll want to head over to visit Haley to see what she has up her sleeve.  The Sugar Bolus has been running strong one week after the next for almost a year!  It's slowing down now, but if you'd ever like to sign up to host a giveaway, please check the calendar, and let me know what date(s) you want! {candyheartsblog@gmail.com} Jump in...anyone is welcome to join the fun!

Important Stuff #4 -- GUEST POSTERS:  Please apply within -- I'm planning to take a short hiatus over the summer, and I'm looking for some peeps to guest post here at Candy Hearts.  If you're interested, please drop me an email {candyheartsblog@gmail.com}.  I need all guest posts by June 10th.  THANK YOU!!!!!

I think that's it.

Consider this your memo :)

  1. Hi Wendy!

I could take on the Blogger Basal over the summer (June, July, August) when I'm not quite so busy...though when are we NOT busy, right?!

I have thoroughly been enjoying the Blogger Basal and the unique take each mom has had on how to pull them all together. I only hope I could do it justice!

Here's to another year of Candy Hearts :)

  2. Thank you for all of the reminders Wendy! I'll take February for the Blogger Basal 2012 (if it hasn't been spoken for).

  4. School is out here, too....I'm already wondering what the heck we're going to do to fill our days!!

I'll take December for the Blogger Basal...if I'm back to teaching, that will be a month I'll have a couple of weeks off, so it seems like it would be a good choice! ;)

    Hint taken!
