Action Week: Art

This Thursday is September 1st.

That means that THIS THURSDAY is the 2nd annual DIABETES ART DAY!

This event was incredibly moving last year.  Unspoken words, emotions that can't be pinpointed, and a quiet sense of community stand out to me as the best way to describe what it felt like to take part.  It was as if I could see inside the hearts of others...an opportunity to look into the souls of the very people who share this journey of life with diabetes.

How to participate?

  • Step 1:  Make art
  • Step 2:  Take a picture of it.
  • Step 3:  Upload HERE.

You don't have to be a blogger.  You don't need a Facebook account.  You don't have to figure out Twitter, Google +, or anything else.  You just need to give yourself permission to dig deep and then carve out a little time to create a masterpiece unique to you.

It's a grown up world.  Gone are the days when we can finger paint, mold clay, and watercolor our way through the business of life.

Let's be kids again.

For just one day.

PS -- If you will be blogging or tweeting, be sure to use the hashtag #DArtDay11.
