Conversations From the Back Seat

"I had 2 Starbursts while I was at church."

"Oh.  Did you test first?"

"Yeah.  It was 170 or something.  But I didn't eat all my breakfast, so I thought I'd better go ahead and take 2 just in case there was insulin on board.  I thought I might be dropping, but wasn't sure.  Better to be safe."

"Oh.  Well.  It sounds like you did a great job.  Do you have any questions?"

"No.  I'm good.  Thanks."

  2. Ah, yes, the "I ate something just in case" conversation....so glad you were told pretty much as soon as she could tell you instead of spending an entire day wondering where the heck the 300 at lunch came from after VBS! Bean has tested before they headed out for playtime and she was at 125 and decided to eat 14g of teddy grahams from her kit just in case. Not a big deal, but it would have been really nice for her to have told me!! ;)

  3. Oh. My. Gosh. How old is she again? That is wonderful! I can't say that my daughter would be thinking in advance. (Although she never leaves any food!) : ) You have done a wonderful job, Wendy!!
