Jules and Me

Jules Gluten Free Flour saved the day for me after Celiac entered our life in 2008.  Another GF/D Mama (Hi Lauren!) discovered her flour and shared the website with me.

I  will never forget the first time I e-mailed Jules...essentially sobbing via e-mail because I just had no idea how we'd EVER have a "normal" Christmas again.  (Sugar's Celiac diagnosis was confirmed a few days shy of Christmas that year.)  I was heartbroken and worried about losing all of the holiday baking traditions I had come to cherish.  I had visions of baking cookies with my girls, and felt incredibly sad because it seemed as though we'd never fulfill them together.

Jules replied to me personally (WOW!).  She reassured me, encouraged me, and reminded me that Celiac wasn't going to be the end of our world.

And she was right.

In recognition of World Diabetes Day, I had the opportunity to guest post over at
Jule's Gluten Free Blog.  What a complete honor!

Please take a moment to check out THE POST....
and be sure to leave a comment thanking Jules for everything.

With that....

  2. This post just brought back memories for me... I love to bake...all year round! I remember baking with my mom when I was a kid, and I so wanted to bake with my own kids. When Jack was diagnosed, before I knew anything about D, I felt absolutely heartbroken over the thought that I wouldn't be able to bake with him or for him. I was so relieved when I realized that I COULD indeed carry on traditions with him!

    Great post on Jules' site!
